The purpose of a groundwater flow survey is to determine the directional flow of the groundwater. At a given property This is particularly important in determining and estimating the migration of contaminated groundwater. Groundwater flow surveys are conducted by measuring the static depth to groundwater in each groundwater monitoring well at a site, and by determining the wellhead elevations to estimate the groundwater flow direction. The water table/groundwater elevation at each well is then calculated in order to provide data points needed to produce a groundwater contour map.
